Scar Therapy in Norfolk

Scar Therapy is a gentle, specialist treatment designed to help improve the comfort, appearance, and mobility of scar tissue. Whether your scar feels tight, sensitive, numb, or restrictive, treatment focuses on helping the surrounding tissue move more freely and feel more settled over time.

Scar Therapy at a glance

A gentle, specialist treatment for fully healed scars that may feel tight, numb, sensitive, uncomfortable, or restrictive. Scar Therapy is designed to help improve how scar tissue feels and moves over time.

Treatment is suitable once the scar has fully healed (typically from around eight weeks, depending on individual healing and medical guidance).

How Scar Therapy works

Each session is tailored to your individual scar and how it presents on the day. I use gentle, non-aggressive techniques to help the tissue soften, improve mobility, reduce discomfort, and ease pulling, tightness, or areas that feel firm or sensitive.

Treatment is carried out slowly, allowing both the scar and surrounding tissue time to respond. Where appropriate, I may also include approaches that support mobility, circulation, hydration of the tissue, and nerve comfort.

Pressure is always adapted to your comfort level, with a focus on working effectively without overwhelming sensitive areas.

What to expect from treatment

Your first session will include a short consultation to understand your medical history, how the scar occurred, and any symptoms you are experiencing.

Treatment is focused specifically on the scar and surrounding area, and may feel very different to a traditional massage. Techniques are slower, more precise, and adapted to the sensitivity of the tissue.

You may notice gradual improvements over a course of sessions rather than immediate change, particularly with older or more established scars.

Supporting your scar between sessions

You’ll be shown simple, practical techniques you can use at home to support your scar between treatments. These may include gentle self-massage, movement strategies, or awareness of how the tissue responds, helping you continue to improve comfort and mobility over time.
