Sports massage is the use of specific therapy techniques in an athletic context to improve recovery time, enhance performance and reduce the risk of injury. This is accomplished using techniques that stimulate the flow of blood and lymph to and from muscles. Sports massage is often delivered before or after physical activity depending on the subject's needs, preferences and goals.

Almost anyone! Sports massage is not only for sports people. It can also help if you find yourself stiff after sitting for long periods at a desk, or conversely if you have a physically demanding job. You may find a massage beneficial if you have trouble sleeping. Or perhaps you simply suffer from general aches and pains? Sports massage could help you too.
Sports massage is a deep tissue massage, and as such there can be moments during the treatment that may be uncomfortable. But overall, the experience should be a pleasant one. As a therapist, I will always check in with you to make sure that you are happy with the pressure that I am applying. I prefer not to work at a level of pain beyond 7 out of 10 at the most and for the majority of your treatment we will be working at a much lower level - it is important that the client is still able to relax, as massaging tense muscles is no fun for anyone, and brings limited benefits. Your treatment is centred around you and your needs as an individual - so I will always work to your level of comfort.
Additionally, a Cannabidiol (CBD) massage can also beneficial as it combines the soothing properties of CBD with the therapeutic benefits of sports massage, offering a natural remedy for pain relief, relaxation, and overall well-being.
